  2. Multi configuration allows users to create individual
  3. preferences and switch users on the fly without having to
  4. perform a complex work around.   This is useful in a home or
  5. classroom where each user of Internet Mail and News needs to
  6. have a personal copy of their Internet Mail and News folders
  7. and address book. You can switch easily between users using
  8. the Switch User command in the Edit menu. Internet Mail and
  9. News can be configured to prompt you for your personal POP
  10. account password when you log on, preventing others from
  11. easily accessing your account.

  13. Internet Mail and News does not lock people out of the file
  14. system. Anyone who has access to the finder can see other
  15. user files and change, add or delete information. Multiple
  16. configuration support is designed to be used with a software
  17. program like Apple Computer's At Ease, which restricts
  18. access to the Finder. See http://www.apple.com for more

  21. To set up multiple configurations:

  23. 1. On the Edit menu, choose Switch User.
  24. 2. Click New.
  25. 3. Type in a name for the new user and click OK. A user
  26. folder for the new user is created and Internet Mail and
  27. News switches to this folder.
  28. 4. Enter the preferences settings for this user
  29. 5. Click OK.

  31. Once multiple configurations are set up, use the Switch User
  32. command to change users. If the user selected has the
  33. password preference on, a Password dialog box will appear
  34. when the program is started and the POP password will need
  35. to be typed before proceeding.

  37. When you create a new configuration, a folder with the
  38. user's name is added to the IMN User(s) folder
  39. in the Internet Mail and News application folder.

  42. with multiple configurations, choose Internet Mail and News
  43. Help from the Help menu, and then click the Preferences
  44. link.
